Aloha,
Welcome to the very first edition of Kauai Wire.
I'm Waylon Brun, and I'm excited to launch a newsletter dedicated to keeping our island connected.
I've spent most of my life involved in agriculture, ranching, small business, and community organizations here on Kauai. Through those experiences, I noticed something that kept happening: important information was scattered everywhere. Community events, local business news, opportunities, meetings, and stories worth knowing about often never reached the people who would benefit most from them.
That's why I started Kauai Wire.
The mission is simple: provide a reliable source of local information that helps residents, business owners, farmers, ranchers, and community members stay informed about what's happening across our island.
Each week, you'll find updates on:
Community events and activities
Local business news
Agriculture and ranching updates
Government and infrastructure projects
Nonprofit and community initiatives
Opportunities, grants, and resources
Stories that showcase the people who make Kauai special
Why Local Information Matters
Kauai is a unique place. We have a strong sense of community, but we're spread across the island and often rely on word of mouth to stay informed.
Kauai Wire aims to bridge that gap by bringing important information together in one place each week.
Whether you're a lifelong resident, a business owner, involved in agriculture, raising a family, or simply interested in what's happening around the island, my hope is that this newsletter becomes a valuable resource for you.
Help Shape Kauai Wire
This newsletter is for the community, and community input will help it grow.
If you know about:
Upcoming events
Fundraisers
New businesses
Community projects
Agricultural news
Local success stories
I'd love to hear about them.
Simply reply to this newsletter and share what's happening in your part of the island.
Looking Ahead
Future editions will feature local spotlights, event calendars, business updates, agriculture news, and stories from around Kauai.
Thank you for being part of the beginning of Kauai Wire.
Mahalo for your support, and I look forward to keeping our island connected.
